Claire Picard

With a background in Fashion and Textiles, Claire Picard’s designs and illustrations are inspired by her love for flowers, the garden, birds and animals. She has worked as a lingerie/embroidery designer, fashion illustrator, and as a print artist, which explains her love of decoration and the feminine aspect of her illustrations. Working mostly as a collage artist, she combines paper-cutting techniques, with ink or paint techniques to create trend-forward collections. Claire has become known for her novel colour combinations, and is always striving to create a grown-up approach to her whimsical characters and florals.
Claire has worked internationally in the greetings card, stationery and home décor markets, and she also teaches online. She spent twenty years living and working in Paris, where she was the founder of a multi-disciplinary association for designers, searching out marketing and sale platform opportunities for creatives. Now based in the south of England, she works out of her Hampshire based studio, and is excited about exhibiting her portfolio of work independently at BluePrint in May 2019.
